Mysterious Palace of Ravana

According to the mythical folktales, this is the place where King Ravana hid Princess Seetha. It is situated on a beautiful peak of a mountain and it is believed that there was a tunnel way from the cave leading to Dhowa Raja Maha Viharaya. Ravana Cave can be reached by travelling 6km on Ella – Wellawaya road from Kumbalwela Junction in Badulla Bandarawela Road, continuing another 1km in Ravana Viharaya road to ancient Ravana Ella Raja Maha Viharaya and taking the stairs for about 500m thereafter
